Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security takes automotive comfort seriously. We’ve worked with Mobile Solutions – the top mobile electronics installation training facility in the world – to develop SoundShield. SoundShield is our automotive soundproofing solution. Its quality and performance are fundamental to our ability to make our clients’ vehicles more comfortable while optimizing the performance of their car audio systems.
SoundShield Soundproofing Adds Luxury
Do you remember the first time you closed a car door on a luxury vehicle? It might have been a Cadillac, a Lexus or a Mercedes-Benz. The doors close with a solid thud. The metal in the doors doesn’t ring like a cymbal, and the wires and door release rods don’t rattle like a tambourine. Most vehicle owners think that you get what you get when buying a new car. We can’t all afford an S-Class Mercedes or an Audi A8, but thanks to SoundShield and the expert technicians at Perfectionist, you can add this level of luxury to any vehicle. It doesn’t matter if you have a pickup truck, a compact car or an SUV – we can make it more luxurious.
SoundShield sound deadening controls the vibration of metal and plastic panels in your vehicle to reduce noise transfer. When applied to the doors, floor, firewall, cargo area or trunk and roof, your vehicle becomes quieter. Noise from the exhaust system, mechanical noise from the engine, wind noise, water or slush spraying against the underside of the car, and sound from nearby vehicles can be dramatically reduced. A quieter vehicle makes it easier to talk to your family or friends. Less background noise also makes it easier for you to be understood when talking on a Bluetooth hands-free system.
Sound Deadening Improves Car Stereo Performance
When it comes to upgrading the car stereo system in your vehicle, adding sound deadening is as important as choosing high-performance speakers. In fact, spending, say, $500 on speakers and $250 on sound deadening will result in better audio performance than spending $750 on speakers alone.
When our team of expert automotive enhancement technicians applies sound deadening to the inner metal door skins of your car or truck, it’s like filling holes in the front of a home speaker. Those holes let the sound from the back of the woofer cone cancel out the sound produced by the front. You can see gains of up to 10 dB in output by adding sound deadening to the doors. Not only will the system play louder, but the speakers also don’t have to work as hard to reproduce your music, so they sound clearer and more detailed. It’s a win-win situation.
Reduce Noise, Buzzes and Rattles
SoundShield sound deadening includes a 3 mm-thick layer of closed-cell foam on the top of the butyl base layer and thick aluminum foil sheet. This foam absorbs high-frequency energy to keep the vehicle quiet, and it also prevents buzzes and rattles from wire harnesses and door release and locking rods. The foam cushions the contact points where the interior plastic door trim panel contacts the inner metal skin of the door. Even the smallest vibrations and noises are eliminated – making your vehicle more luxurious and comfortable to drive.
