Radio Upgrade and Car Starter for Anchorage Mitsubishi Outlander

The owner of this 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander recently visited Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security in Anchorage to explore options for a new radio and a remote car starter. The client wanted to upgrade to a modern multimedia radio that would still be able to show a backup camera image. Of course, living in Alaska, the need for a reliable remote car starter goes without saying. After examining the vehicle and asking the client about where they park it, we suggested a remote start solution that would ensure they’d have the range required to start the vehicle reliably.

Pioneer Multimedia Radio Installation

Mitsubishi Radio — The new radio gave the client the Bluetooth feature they were looking for.

The client chose a Pioneer AVH-210EX multimedia receiver for its 6.2-inch color display and Bluetooth capabilities. Our technicians used a Metra radio trim panel and wire harness adapter to integrate the radio into the dash of the Outlander. Using an ASWC-1 interface, they programmed the radio buttons on the steering wheel to send commands to the new Pioneer unit. The last step in the installation was to use a backup camera integration harness from Axxess to provide power to the factory backup camera and allow it to work with the new radio.

Compustar Remote Car Starter

The remote start system we proposed is based on a Compustar FT-7200S control module. Our technicians completed the mounting and integration of the module into the vehicle wiring, then programmed a Blade-AL integrated interface to communicate with the ignition and security computers in the vehicle.

Once the wiring and programming were complete, we added an RFX-P2WT12-SS remote package to the controller. This kit includes a two-way antenna and one of the amazing T12 LCD remote controls. This remote provides up to 3 miles of range. If the owner is in a movie theatre, restaurant or office, they are still in communication with the vehicle. It’s amazing!

The remote is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack that is rechargeable from any powered USB port, including the one built into the new Pioneer radio.

Mitsubishi Starter and Radio Upgrade

With the integration of the new radio and remote starter into this 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander complete, we called the client to let them know that the vehicle was ready to be picked up. A member of our team walked them through how to use the radio and the starter system and showed them how to make the Bluetooth connection to the radio for hands-free calling and audio streaming. Product Spotlight: Metra IBHS1 Seat Heaters

We are installing a lot of remote car starters here at Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security now that the weather is cold. We offer several options with our Compustar remote starters – you can add security features, and we can activate functions like your rear window defroster or heated seats automatically. If your vehicle doesn’t already have heated seats, then we offer the Metra IBHS1 seat heaters to solve that.

Metra IBHS1 Carbon Fiber Seat Kits

We can install aftermarket seat heaters in most vehicles. We use the IBHS1 seat heater kits from Metra. Each kit includes a pair of 9×18-inch heating pads, an illuminated three-position switch and a wiring harness. The heating elements use flexible carbon fiber threads to allow the pads to conform to the seat cushion perfectly. The pads are thick enough to be undetectable once installed.

Illuminated Control Switch

Each seat heating kit has an illuminated two-position control switch. The mechanical switch has high, low and off positions with an LED that illuminates when the system is on. The beauty of a mechanical switch is that you can leave it turned on when you get out of your car and when you remote start the car, the seats start to warm up right away.

Fast Warm-up Time

Each heating pad is rated to produce about 25 watts of heat. The pads have a built-in thermostat that keeps the temperature between 115 and 135 degrees. This power level allows the seat heater kit to warm up quickly.

Quality Perfectionist Installation

To properly install a seat heating kit, we remove the seats from your vehicle and carefully disassemble them on our bench. Then we remove the upholstery and secure the heating pad in place. We solder every electrical connection in the vehicle to ensure maximum reliability and conductivity. We protect and conceal the wiring with Tesa cloth tape. Once we have installed the heating elements in your seat and reassembled it, you can’t even tell we worked on it.

Wasilla Client Stays Warm with Heated Seats and Remote Start

At Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security, one of our greatest pleasures is hearing back from clients about how much they love their new products. We only sell products that we would install in our own vehicles. Because of this, we aren’t surprised that our clients fall in love with their vehicle upgrades, but we do love hearing when it happens.

Warm Car Comfort for Commuting

The other day, we heard from a client who travels daily from Wasilla to Eagle River for his job. Recently, we installed a remote start and heated seats in his vehicle, and he was excited to call us and give a positive report.

With a 30-minute daily commute each way, our client wanted to be able to travel between Wasilla and Eagle River comfortably. Winter is quickly approaching and temperatures will only continue to drop. Our client decided that the best way to stay warm on his commute was to have a remote start and heated seats installed. Heated Seats Impress on Day One

The first day he drove his car to work with his new upgrades, he couldn’t believe the difference they made. The next morning, he pushed a button on his smartphone 15 minutes before he had to leave for work, and his car started instantly. By the time he walked out to his vehicle, his seats were already toasty-warm and his car felt so cozy – the complete opposite of the freezing car he stepped into just the day before.

Since he spends over an hour in the car each day, our client likes to enjoy his rides as much as possible. Being able to get in a warm car and stay warm definitely added the extra enjoyment he was looking for. He doesn’t arrive at work with frozen fingers anymore. Even better, he enjoys the same thing on his way home from work! With the temperatures continuing to drop, he is also looking forward to using his remote start to melt the ice and frost off his windshield in the coming weeks. This gives him more time to get ready and enjoy his mornings before leaving for work.
