Let Perfectionist Install Your Pickup Truck or SUV Leveling Kit

04/21/2021 By John Schwartz

Truck LevelingWhether you’re looking for that perfect stance or want to run taller tires, a pickup truck or SUV suspension leveling kit from Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security in Anchorage is the perfect upgrade. We don’t just supply the parts; our expert technicians can install the strut or spring spacers or new keys to get you back on the road quickly.

What Is a Truck Leveling Kit?

Truck LevelingIf you’ve looked at any of the popular pickup trucks sitting on the dealership lot, you’ll see most of them have a slight nose-down rake and usually more clearance around the rear wheels. A leveling kit allows us to raise the front of your vehicle between 1 and 2.5 inches (depending on the model) to put the truck level to the ground. Once level, you can run a larger front tire to increase ground clearance, and your truck will look “right” whether it’s rolling down the road or parked.

Depending on the design of the suspension, leveling kits come in different styles. Some use upper or lower strut spacers, while others use spring spacers, new torsion keys or redesigned upper control arms. We carry popular brands like Zone Off-Road, Ready Lift, Rough Country, BDS and Fabtech. While working on the truck, we can replace the struts and shocks with upgraded units from Fox Racing or adjustable solutions from Bilstein.

Our leveling solutions include all the hardware required to ensure that brake lines are routed for safe operation and ABS sensors continue to function perfectly. Some kits, like the Zone Offroad solution for the Jeep Gladiator, include bump-stop extensions and sway-bar end links.

After everything is installed and all the fasteners are torqued back to factory specifications, we’ll make sure your vehicle is aligned to handle properly and not wear out your tires. We can even re-aim your headlights, fog lights or driving lights to ensure that you can see safely and won’t blind oncoming drivers.

Seat Heaters and Remote Starter for Local Toyota Sequoia

02/24/2021 By John Schwartz

Toyota StarterA local client recently dropped into Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security to ask about upgrading his 2019 Toyota Sequoia with a remote car starter and seat heaters. What was a little different about this request was that he wanted us to add heaters in the back seats as well as the front. After one of our technicians inspected the vehicle to ensure that we’d be able to accommodate his request, we scheduled an appointment to begin the work.

Toyota Remote Car Starter

Toyota Starter
Our technicians added a remote starter system to this Toyota.

We started this upgrade project by installing a Compustar remote car starter. After talking to the client about where the vehicle is parked at home and work, we suggested the 2WG15 remote control kit. This bundle includes a four-button remote control that flashes LEDs and beeps once the controller has executed commands in the vehicle. The G15 remotes offer up to 3,000 feet of range.

The kit also includes a Drone telematics system. The client can use the DroneMobile app on his smartphone to control the door locks and remote start functions from anywhere he has internet access.

Heated Seat Upgrades

Toyota Starter
The manual switches allow the seats to be turned on with the new starter system.

The flexible heating elements will withstand years of use.

The client wanted to make sure the rear seats had heaters too.

With the starter integration complete, our team set to work installing seat heater kits in the front and rear seats. Our heating kits include flexible warming pads that use carbon fiber elements. Once installed on the backs and bottom of the seat, you can’t even tell they’re there. The kits include a mechanical switch that allows each set of pads to be set to the high or low temperature setting. If the owner remembers to leave them turned on, they will start to warm the seats once the remote car starter is activated.

Add Comfort to Your Vehicle at Perfectionist

After a full day of work, our team had the starter and seat heaters installed in this client’s Toyota Sequoia. He returned to Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security to pick up the vehicle, and we showed him how to use the remote starter and heaters. He was thrilled with the results! We explained the features available with the Drone system so he could choose the right package to suit his needs.

If you’re interested in making your car or truck more comfortable to drive this winter, drop by Perfectionist and speak with one of our Product Specialists. You can also reach us by phone or by e-mail using the contact form here on our website.

A new client of ours stopped by with her 2019 Toyota Sequoia, looking for a leather seat upgrade with some extra accessories. She wanted the car to be warmer in the winter months, so we discussed adding a remote start and some heated seats to the vehicle.

We selected a Compustar RF2WG15-FM remote starter that offers two-way control and feedback on the vehicle status, with plenty of range to start it from indoors. We added Echomaster PHSK-2L seat heater elements to the first and second row of seats so all occupants could get warm quickly after hopping in. Finally, we recovered the seats with Katzkin two-tone seat covers in a Mist Grey color with Frost-colored trim. She was very happy with the added luxury and the remote warm-up capabilities.

For all your remote start, seat heater and leather seating upgrades, Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security has you covered. Stop by the shop — we would love to customize your vehicle to fit your style.

Anchorage Client’s 2016 Toyota Rav4 Gets Remote Starter

A client from Anchorage, Alaska, came in with a 2016 Toyota RAV4 for a remote starter system. This client decided on Compustar’s DroneMobile and a basic one-way remote with 1,000 feet of range for a backup. The DroneMobile is very popular in Anchorage and one of the top units we sell. It has unlimited range through an app on the driver’s smartphone, so it works well with clients who travel a lot, and especially with students going to college. (DroneMobile does require an annual service fee or a three-year plan.)

We started our install by checking every function of the vehicle, using our iPads to record everything. We then performed our install using Tesa tape and zip ties, and soldering each and every connection.

Once we complete the job, we have a different technician check out the vehicle. He goes over the same functions and checks the work performed. In this case, he checked the hood pin, brake shutdown, unlock, lock and remote start. After checking out the vehicle, we vacuumed the RAV4. Before we pulled it out of our service bay, we added a complimentary Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security water bottle and a VIP hanger.

We taught our client how to use the new remote start and answered any questions.

If you are interested in a remote start for the winter, call us at 907-563-8112.

Compustar Remote Starter Chosen For Anchorage 2016 Toyota 4-Runner

A client from Anchorage, Alaska, came in with a 2016 Toyota 4Runner and inquired about a remote starter for the brand-new car. They came in knowing they wanted a two-way auto start with at least 6,000 feet of range. We ended up going with the Compustar RF-2W901-SS. This unit is a two-way system that has up to a mile of range and is rechargeable. It also has a one-year warranty on the remotes as long as they are not physically damaged.

We started by checking every function of the vehicle, using our iPads to record everything. We then performed our install using Tesa tape and zip ties, and soldering each connection.

Once we complete a job, we have a different technician check out the vehicle. He goes over the same functions, and also checks the work performed. In this case, he checked the hood pin, brake shutdown, unlock, lock and remote start. The hood pin is essential in every remote start. It is a pin under the hood that senses whether the hood is closed or open. If the hood is open and someone tries to remote start the vehicle, it will not start and the system will give an error. This is a major safety feature. We install a hood pin on every vehicle we install a remote start in.

We vacuumed the vehicle and added a complimentary Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security water bottle, and a VIP hanger. We taught our client how to use the new remote start, and answered any questions.

If you are interested in a remote start for the winter, call us at 907-563-8112 or contact us here.
