A customer stopped by here at Perfectionist Auto Sound looking to upgrade the look of the interior of his 2014 GMC Sierra truck. He wanted his seats to complement the silver trim inside the vehicle. He was not a fan of the factory cloth seats and wanted a different material and sleeker design. In addition to a new look for the seats, he also wanted them to be heated.

We designed the seats using silver contrast stitching and a two-toned light-gray center. The seats looked great and matched the rest of the interior perfectly.

We then installed the button for the new heated seats on the dash, and it looked like it had come straight from the factory. The customer was happy and loved the new look of his truck.

For all your interior needs, Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security has you covered. Stop by the shop — we would love to customize your vehicle to fit your style!

A repeat client from Anchorage came back to visit us here at Perfectionist Auto Sound to talk about some lighting upgrades for his 2008 GMC Sierra. With the low visibility that comes with winters in Alaska, additional lighting is a must. Not to mention that this customer travels throughout the state where little light reaches the backroads.

For all of our aftermarket lighting needs, we push Rigid Industries, a brand we have come to love here at Perfectionist. We fitted the customer’s vehicle with a Rigid light bar, fog lights, low and high beams, and side shooting lights. The customer was so happy on picking up their vehicle and was excited to be able to use their new lights.

Winters in Alaska can be quite dangerous for driving, with low visibility among the many safety concerns. A client from Anchorage came to Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security in search of new speakers and a stereo for their 2000 GMC Sierra. Our team spent time with the client, getting to know them better by listening to what specific features they were looking for and taking a look at the vehicle to see what the best fit would be. We then spent some time looking over some products that we thought would best suit their needs. We worked up a proposal for the client that they liked, so we set an appointment to do the work.

Our team installed a single-DIN Alpine stereo in the dash to replace the original head unit. We also installed 4″x 6″ Pioneer speakers. After finishing the installation, we went over the operation of the products with the client, and they were pleased with how it all worked.

If you would like to add new speakers to your vehicle or upgrade the stereo system, we would love for you to stop by Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security to speak with any of our knowledgeable staff, or you can simply contact us here.

Lighting Upgrade for Anchorage GMC Sierra 2500

02/12/2020 By John Schwartz

Truck LightingA client from here in Anchorage contacted the team at Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security to inquire about a lighting upgrade for his 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck. The client wanted better fog lights to help light the area adjacent to the road as well as a high-output driving light that would provide long-range illumination. After inspecting the vehicle, we put together a package that would deliver amazing performance and reliability.

GMC Sierra Fog Light Upgrade

Truck Lighting
The corners of the bumpers received a Rigid fog light upgrade.

We started the project by removing the front grille and bumper from the truck. The first order of business was to mount a set of Rigid Industries 504813 D-Series fog light pods in the bumper using a Rigid 46543 mounting kit. These lights create an SAE-compliant light pattern that makes them legal for use on public roads. The wide 52-degree beam angle ensures that any animals at the sides of the road are illuminated clearly to make night driving safer. Our team wired the new lights into the original fog light circuit so that they can be controlled with the original fog light switch.

High-Performance Lighting

Truck Lighting
Our team created custom brackets for the new lighting.
Truck Lighting
The light bar bolts securely to the radiator supports.
Truck Lighting
Metal brackets were test-fit before painting.
Truck Lighting
The new lighting tucks neatly between the grille openings.

With the fog light upgrade installed, the next step was to mount a combination spot and driving light upgrade just behind the front grille. We proposed the Rigid 931314 SR-Series 30-inch light bar because it would provide illumination out to more than 600 feet.

Our team took a series of measurements that would locate the light in the very center of the lower opening in the grille. Based on the information we gathered, we fabricated a set of custom mounting brackets that bolt to the front radiator support to ensure that the light is solid and secure. Of course, we protected the brackets with corrosion-resistant paint so they would look good and be reliable.

With the brackets in place and the bar mounted, our team integrated the wiring for the new light into the factory high-beam control circuit. We wrapped all the wires in automotive-grade cloth tape to protect them from the elements, then secured everything to using zip ties to prevent issues from vibration as the truck travels down the road. We finished the project by aiming the lights for perfect long-range performance that won’t blind oncoming drivers.

Anchorage’s Truck Accessory Experts

With the truck lighting upgrade project complete, the client returned to Perfectionist Auto Sound & Security to pick up his vehicle. We showed him the work we had done and explained how to turn on each of the lights. He was thrilled with the results. If you’re shopping for a lighting upgrade for your vehicle, drop by our store, give us a call or send our team an email using our contact form.

A client from right here in Anchorage, AK, came to us for a 2016 GMC Sierra remote starter system. We installed a Compustar system for this particular client that gives her 1,000 feet of range. We also added the DroneMobile. She now has the ability to start the truck remotely at her house, as well as many other locations, like work, restaurants or the movies. The Drone gives her unlimited range as long as she has WiFi or cell service. This allows her to get into a cool truck in the summer, and a warm truck in the winter.

This Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security remote starter client will be smiling every morning when her neighbors are scraping ice and snow off their car windows. Check out the remote start section of the website for a full education on all the great remote start packages and features we have available.
