2015 Ford F-150 Gets Major DD Audio Bass Upgrade

A client recently came by the shop, looking to add some more bass to his 2015 F-150 by adding subwoofers as an under-seat solution for his truck. After talking to the client and finding out exactly what sound he was going for, we wrote him up a quote for three subwoofers. We decided to go with an MTI Acoustics box, a brand of subboxes we’ve recently become exclusive dealers for. We chose a Stage 1 ported enclosure that housed 3 DD Audio 2508 8″ subwoofers. They were powered by an DD Audio M4 amplifier.

To ensure that the subs would be happy with the amount of air space, we had to lift the seats to allow more room for a bigger box. We did a 2″ rear seat lift, and the box fit perfectly. The customer was so happy with how loud the subs hit and loved the sleek look of the box.

Here at Perfectionist, we can accommodate and create any sound to fit your needs. Stop by the shop and one of our sales associates would be happy to build a system with you.

One of our team members from here at Perfectionist decided that he wanted to build up the 2015 GMC Denali that he recently bought. He wanted to add lots of aftermarket sound gear and lighting, but that wouldn’t be complete without the addition of sound deadening.

Here at the shop, we use SoundShield, our very own sound-deadening product, created by our owner, John Schwartz. It is a triple-layer mat that consists of butyl rubber and high-quality aluminum foil, topped with closed-cell acoustic foam.

Our tech decided to SoundShield his whole vehicle — the front two doors, rear doors, floor and back wall — to block out unwanted noise as best as possible. He got what he wanted: better audio and a quieter ride.

If you or anyone you know are looking to reduce road noise and increase the quality of your sound system, stop by our shop or contact us here.

A customer came in with their 2015 Chevrolet Silverado looking to add lots of bass to their truck’s music system. After talking to the customer, we decided to go with an under-the-seat MTI Acoustics box, a brand of sub boxes we’ve recently become exclusive dealers for. The box we chose is a Stage 3 enclosure that houses three DD Audio 2508 8″ subwoofers, powered by an M2C 3500 watt amplifier.

To fit the box under the seat and assure that the vehicle could handle all of the power coming from these subs, we had to do a seat lift and upgrade all of the main factory electrical systems under the hood. We did a 2″ rear seat lift and the box fit perfectly. Even with the 8″ subwoofers, this was one of the loudest under-rear systems we’ve installed!

If you’re looking to add some, or a lot, of bass to your vehicle, stop by and see us here at Perfectionist Auto Sound. We can come up with something that will be perfectly tailored to your needs.

2015 BMW 500X Gets Long-Range Two-Way Remote Start Upgrade

A client came in with their 2015 BMW 550X, looking for a new remote start. Here at Perfectionist Auto Sound, our techs are extremely experienced with European vehicles, so we could walk through many options with our client while guaranteeing a clean and reliable install. Eventually, we decided on the RFX-2WT9-FM, a two-way remote with a half-mile range. “Two-way” means that the remote notifies you when the vehicle is started, locked or unlocked through the LCD screen, an audible tone and even through your phone when using the Compustar Drone car-starting app.

The client was smiling and happy on picking up their vehicle, knowing that they could now enjoy a warm and cozy vehicle for the long winter months, or a cool vehicle during our sweltering summers.

For more information about our remote starts, check out the remote start section of our website for the full rundown on all of the great remote start packages and features that we have available. Contact us here for more information, or better yet, just drop by in person and any one of our team would be happy to help you.

Sprinter Van Alarm Adds Protection for Anchorage Client

08/18/2017 By John Schwartz

Sprinter Van AlarmA client from here in Anchorage contacted Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security to have a 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van alarm installed. After meeting with the customer to understand his concerns about the vehicle, we devised a plan to protect it. The client approved our plan, so we scheduled an appointment for the installation.

Vehicle and System Preparation

A battery charger ensures the battery remains in premium condition.

The brain for the system is securely clamped into the jig for wiring.
Sprinter Van Alarm
All of the wiring is neatly grouped in preparation for installation.

Each vehicle that enters our work area is treated to a thorough and documented inspection process. We look at the physical condition of the vehicle and note any issues like scratches or dents. We confirm the functionality of major electrical systems and ensure there are no check-engine lights or warnings on the dash before we start work. We connect the vehicle battery to our fully computerized Snap-On battery charger to ensure it will be in perfect condition when the vehicle leaves, even if we have worked on it all day.

Our technicians prepare every security and remote starter system we install on a benchtop jig. We bundle the wires we are going to use in the installation together to make the system neat and tidy once we mount it in the vehicle. We use tesa cloth tape to hold everything together and ensure it will not buzz or rattle once the client starts driving.

Compustar Security System

Sprinter Van Alarm
To enhance safety, A pin switch was used to disable the remote starter if the hood is open.
Sprinter Van Alarm
The Compustar remote is even more rugged than the factory remote!

This security system is based around a Compustar FT-7000AS Remote Starter and Security system control module. Once our technician integrated the controller into the vehicle, we added a DB-ALL integration module to allow the remote starter portion of the system to start the vehicle. We connected to the factory door pin wiring so that the alarm will know if someone opens a door and sound the alarm. The FT-DAS 3-in-1 security system was the final addition to the brain. This sensor provides shock, motion and digital tilt detection to add another barrier of protection to the client’s van.

The client chose the RF-1WG6 remote control package to control his Sprinter van alarm system. Also known as the Prime G6 remote, this remote kit provides up to 1,000 feet of range. The heavy-duty remote is water-resistant, so dropping it in a puddle or snowbank will not be the end of it.

Vehicle Check-Out Process

As important as our check-in process is; our check-out process is even more detailed. The technician who performed the installation will review the system and vehicle to ensure everything functions correctly. Then, a second member of our team reviews the vehicle to ensure it is flawless. This second set of eyes catches even the minutest of oversights.

Just before we pull the vehicle out of our work area, we put a bottle of Perfectionist water in the cup holder and hang one of our VIP hangers on the rear view mirror. We reward our VIP clients with a 10% discount on a future purchase if they provide feedback on Google or Facebook. Our customers deserve only the best!

Sprinter Van Alarm and Remote Starter

We delivered the Sprinter back to the client and showed him how to use the new Compustar system. He was pleased and happy to have his vehicle and its contents protected.

If you are interested in a remote starter or security system for your car or truck, drop by Perfectionist Auto Sound and Security or e-mail us using our online contact form.
